We were told to watch The Drama Company with an open mind and not make any comparisons to The Kapil Sharma Show. Trust us, we did it. The first episode was in the form of a funny skit. Krushna Abhishek, Ali Asgar, Sugandha Mishra and Sudesh Lehri recreated the iconic Mughal – E- Azam. Okay, the drama style was kind of new but the concept of Salim and Anarkali has been used everywhere. There is nothing new about it. Anarkali was Sugandha Mishra, and a bald one at that. We had Sudesh Lehri as Tansen and Krushna as Akbar. The cast of Munna Michael graced the first episode, Tiger Shroff, Nidhi Agerwal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. There was not much interaction with the guests as we see on The Kapil Sharma Show and we are thinking why. Coming to the show, the jokes were lame and done to death. Yes, we agree that there was no vulgarity but the writing material needed to be much better. It was the first episode and even if they were not competing with The Kapil Sharma Show, there is no reason to not put your best foot forward. The jokes were stale and somehow the actors seems disinterested. However, the show had some spark when Riddhima Pandit came in for a minute. We know she did a good job in Bahu Hamari Rajnikant and this shows proves she is a talent to reckon with. Honestly, we had expected more in terms of originality, humour and entertainment. They say the first impression is the last impression, and it will be a task for Krushna and co to redeem themselves.
